Every year I try to wrap the year up with some posts summarizing my favorite stuff from each year. Today I’m listing my top 5 favorite albums from 2012. Albums I haven’t been able to help myself from listening to over and over. I’d love to hear what you think I’m missing out on in the comments.
Mumford and Sons – Babel
The perfect blend of bluegrass with folk music. Literally have found myself tapping my foot to each song on this album.
The Killers – Battle Born
80’s anthem rock? Yes, please. The Killers come back with a solid offering with some incredibly lyrics, and some vintage sounds.
Rend Collective Experiment – Homemade Worship by Handmade People
These guys are proving the Christian music doesn’t have to be lame. Their lyrics are powerful and thoughtful, they are skilled muscians. If Christian music stands a chance outside the Christian bubble, it’ll be through bands like this.
.fun – Some Nights
If you asked me what the best album to listen to while driving, this one would win hands down. Pop music at it’s finest, you can’t help but sing along.
Linkin Park – Living Things
The kind of album that just grabs you. The songs have incredible hooks that draw you in and make you wish you knew how a synthesizer worked. A beautiful stripped down version of classic Linkin Park.
