Zombies at their very core, thrive on eating people. For zombies, preying on individuals is just part of their nature. Sometimes I can be the same way. I can get so wrapped up in my concerns, my point of view, and my thoughts that I begin to see other people as just a way to accomplish something. I think the temptation is there for all of us. We use people to feel better about our looks, or jobs, or family. We mock people who still wear crocs in order to feel better about our fashion taste.
Often, it’s just easier to put someone down than to worry about someone other than ourselves.
But I might have found an answer to our problem. I’ve learned in my life, that serving others constantly brings me back to appreciating what God has blessed me with. Leaving a generous tip at a restaurant reminds me how fortunate I am to be able to go out to eat. Mowing an elderly lady’s yard reminds me to be thankful for my (temporary) youth. Inviting people over to my house reminds me to be thankful for a home.
